By Israel Bulus, Kaduna
Kaduna South Senatorial Candidate under the platform of Labour Party (LP), in the 2023 general elections, Engr. Michael Ayuba Auta, has said that he made over 300 Youths from his region millionaires.
Auta who is one of the major Estate Developers in Abuja, disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the lnter-faith Sensitization of Youth and Women Inclusion in Governance, in Kaduna recently.
He said: “I have made over 300 youths from Southern Kaduna millionaires, sponsored some of them in the educational sector.”
According to him, three of them put the Nok University, Kachia, situated in Southern Kaduna together, noting that because of this unprecedented development they brought to the region, those who feel uncomfortable, started to raise unfounded allegation against one of them.
It would be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, ordered for the seizure of NOK University and other properties alleged to have been built by proceeds of unlawful proceeds.
But Auta, in a swift reaction, reiterated that his wealth is genuine, being proceeds of hard work, as no any legal authority has proven otherwise.
“I am one of the major investors in Nok University and by the Grace of God we shall take it back”, he asserted.
While commenting on the struggle for power between youths and the old politicians in Nigeria, he said the act is appalling, unacceptable. He challenged the youths to rise to the challenge.
The Senatorial hopeful reiterated his commitment to a prosperous Southern Kaduna if elected come 2023.
“The call for Youths and Women inclusion in governance has not been this loud, forceful with more awareness creation from a group that has recently been neglected.
“In the past, we had the youth occupying political positions and managing them, without so much sweat. For example, Governor Nasir el-rufai became an Adviser at the presidency at 32, Senator Nenadi Usman, was a Commissioner at 26, the late Senator Isaiah Balat, Ali Madaki, also in their twenties, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Ramallan Yero and others, became commissioners in their twenties and thirties respectively.
“Today, we have retired men and women in their 60s and 70s competing with the youths for political position, which is totally unacceptable. Therefore, the Labour Party stands out when it comes to bringing out the women and youths, who constitutes about 60 percent of the voting strength, into political discuss and limelight, thereby, giving them a place at the leadership stage, to help proffer solutions to the major problems and challenges be-deviling our communities, region, State and Country.”
He also appreciated the representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) and Jama’Atu Nasril Islam (JNI) for coming together and aligning to ‘kick away a combined twenty three years of appalling governance by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and urged them to embrace a paradigm shift, towards a party with the ideology to properly reposition Kaduna State and the country at large.
” Let us continue to pray for our victory to come, so that we can all propagate the message of moving away from the already tested and failed leadership to a government that is liberal, all inclusive and economic-oriented. That is the Labour Party- it is a party with the vision to move Nigeria forward from it’s present state of anarchy and stand out great in the comity of Nations” he stated.
Also speaking with Journalists shortly after the event, the Labour Party candidate for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, enjoined Nigerians to take advantage of the season to embolden and duly engrave the name Nigeria on the map of the world.
He added that the right time for youths to seize the opportunity and take the country back from the old politicians is now, while tasking them to remain ‘Obi-diently’ focused to achieve the slogan -“Youths are the leaders of tomorrow” .
