A group under the auspices of Kaduna Youths for Good Governance (KYGG), has urged President Bola Tinubu to acts swiftly towards the realisation of completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, being a motion moved by Bello Elrufa’i.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Elrufa’i, member representing Kaduna North in the Legislative House, in a plenary raised a motion before the house on the cause of the delay in completion of Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway
In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna, Chairman of KYGG, Cmrd Aliyu Modibbo, said President Tinubu should put interest to ensure completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway which is has failed to meet its completion time as assured by the contractors.
According to Modibbo, El-rufai’s motion on completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Federal highway, indicated his ability, and capacity to push people-driven mandate to the national level and his concern to the plight of his constituents.
He added that Elrufai’s moved the motion on premise of its socio-economic relevance and importance to the life of commuters.
He quoted Elrufa’i to have said that “The hardship commuters face as well as death toll that occurs on almost weekly basis as a result of non-completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano high way is pitiable unfortunate and avoidable situation”.
Modibbo further said that the motion was a commendable feat, adding that it must be hailed and supported by all democratic minded people across the country.
“We in Kaduna are happy with Hon. Bello El-rufai’s wisdom, and concern to have brought this all-important motion on the floor of the House of Representatives.
“It is a testimony of his concern to the plight of the people and a proof of his people-oriented representation, which we believed, if continued on that trend, his constituents and the nation shall reap numerous benefits,”Modibbo added.
He therefore called on President Bola Tinubu’s administration to see reason why the construction of the federal highway which has engulfed large sum of public funds inflicted hardship on commuters.
He also urged other legislators on moving motions that would address plights of the citizens, while also supporting their colleques on sensitive issues aimed at bringing succor to the people.(NAN)(www nannews.ng)
