One thousand one hundred students benefited from the 2024 Sanko Educational Foundation Scholarship Scheme into different tertiary institutions.
Those to benefit from this gesture are students of tertiary institutions across the State and outside who are indigenes of the Kaura Local Government Area.
The Board Chairman of the Foundation, Hon. Sankyai Obadiah who disclosed this during the flagged-off ceremony held at Kagoro Town Hall, said the scholarship was aimed at allowing indigent students to acquire quality education.
According to him, 400 students are benefiting from the first quarter of the scholarship scheme.
He explained that 600 students would benefit from the Jamb registration scholarship while 200 students from the College of Education Gidan Waya would be beneficiaries in the second quarter.
He added: ” In the third quarter, 200 students from Kaduna State University and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria will get the scholarship while in the fourth quarter, 100 students from the College of Nursing Kafanchan, College of Health Makarfi and those outside the State will be beneficiaries.
Sankyai noted that with the initiative, beneficiaries would be poised to study hard, and as young students, pursue their studies with more zeal to enable them to achieve success.
He said: “This scholarship was held to support indigent students deprived of equal opportunities in their upbringing and studies.
He further added that the scholarship scheme was in addition to various interventions of the Sanko Educational
in the education sector.”
