Kunak Foundation, a Kaduna based NGO has organised a novelty football match between its volunteers and students and staff of Our Lady of Fatima Girls Secondary School, Kaduna in a bid to raise awareness of the scourge of cancer.

Barr. Bavoshiya Nyan, the CEO of the Foundation disclosed this during the flag of the match on Monday in Kaduna.

Nyan said the match which would involve female staff of the school was also aimed at starting a cancer Awareness Students Club in the school.

She called on the government to rise up by giving adequate care and attention to treating cancer, as well as subsidising its treatment.

Also speaking, the Cancer Awareness Coordinator of the Foundation, Ms. Grace Auta, thanked the management, staff and students of the school for the support and collaboration, while emphasizing on the need for more decisive action by everybody especially government towards addressing cancer scourge.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the football match was both entertaining and exercising.

It ended with 6:0 against Kunak foundation female volunteers.(NAN)
