The Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), has tasked
women on reaching their vision and planning for unraveling their potentials in life.

The President of DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Musa, made the call at the third edition of the workshop on visioning and personal planning held at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on Tuesday in Kaduna.

She stressed that as mothers, wives, professionals and care givers, the task of balancing family, work and personal growth could be tasking and overwhelming.

She lamented that thoughts of women dreams to be achieved starts becoming distant because of the enormous responsibilities they find themselves entangled in.

“We want you all to know that deep inside of you lies huge potentials yet to be unleashed and that is why we have come together to awaken those potentials that have been dormant within you,”Musa said.

According to her, for many women, the challenge is not in the lack of ambition or clarity of purpose but in articulating and actualising the dreams.

She equally said the magnitude of women responsibilities could cast a shadow over their aspirations, thereby leaving their feeling overwhelmed and directionless.

The President therefore, said it was against the backdrop that the workshop was organised to address the issue of lack of visioning.

She envisaged that during the workshop, the women would engage in meaningful discussions, reflective exercises and actionable strategies aimed at empowering each of them to take decisive steps toward their goals.

She added that the workshop would explore ways to cultivate balance in women lives, nurture their relationships and cultivate a sense of fulfillment that transcends the boundaries of their daily routines.

“Together, we will create a future that is not only bright and promising but also deeply fulfilling,”she said.

Musa urged the participants to maximize the opportunities and benefits from what the workshop avails as they look forward to an inspiring and transformative proceedings.

She thanked the First Lady of the Nigeria and the Founder of Renewed Hope Initiative, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for her visionary leadership and motherly guidance.

She also thanked her husband, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa for his unrelenting support to the ideals of DEPOWA and for being the driving force behind her stated vision for the organisation and the Commandant of the NDA, Maj.-Gen. John Ochai for his support.(NAN)
