People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in Gombe State have said that if president Bola Tinubu appoints Hajiya Halimat Tejuosho Adenike’s as the Minister of  Humanitarian Affairs and poverty Alleviation, it would be a strategic step in addressing their urgent needs in Nigeria .

The PWDs, therefore made a passionate appeal to First lady , Chief of Staff the president, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and others to persuade President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Tejuosho as Minister in his cabinet.

The group made the appeal during a special prayer session organized for Tejuosho in Gombe on Friday to become minister of Humanitarian Affairs and poverty Alleviation.

Recall that different groups nationwide have called on president Tinubu to replace the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu with Tejuosho, following her interventions in alleviating the plights of citizenry through the QAT Foundation.

Speaking at the prayer session in Gombe on Friday, the Leader of the group, Comrade Yahaya Yusuf Kumo stated that Tejuosho’s appointment would be a strategic move to address the urgent needs of people with disabilities in Nigeria, adding that the philanthropist has a proven track record of advocating for the rights and inclusion of PLWDs, making her an ideal candidate for the position.

Kumo added, that PLWDs in Gombe state believe that Tejuosho’s appointment would be a significant step towards inclusive governance and a better life for them across the country.

He said that “Tejuosho has been a champion for our cause, and we believe that her appointment as a Minister would be a game-changer for us,” Mohammed said. “She understands our challenges and has the expertise to develop and implement policies that would improve our lives.”

Highlighting the need for improved access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, as well as the enforcement of disability rights laws in Nigeria, the group leader asserted that “as President Tinubu continues to assemble his cabinet, the PLWDs remain hopeful that their plea will be heeded, paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable society for all Nigerians and the fact that she can communicate in Hausa language fluently, the support of the president come 2027 is assured in sha Allah .

“We urge President Tinubu to consider our plea and appoint Hajiya Tejuosho as a Minister, because we believe in her capacity that her appointment would be a significant step towards inclusive governance and a better life for PLWDs in Nigeria, we are aware of our challenges as a stakeholders in project Nigeria and bringing such an administrator per excellent with private sector experience will bring about significant change in our polity and will equally put to shame those against our common progress” Kumo added.
