The Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF), a coalition of youth organizations across Nigeria, has recommended Ahmed Sajo as the ideal Spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu following the resignation of Ajuri Ngelale.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Kaduna by Comrade Mohammed Abdulsalam Kazeem, President of the UNYF.
According to hi President Tinubu’s leadership and vision for a better Nigeria have inspired then as young people, and made them eager to contribute their quota to the success of the pro-people administration as the presidency continues to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing the nation.
As youth organizations, Abdulsalam believed that effective communication is crucial to the success of every government, policies, and programs, and as such deemed it necessary to recommend a highly qualified individual in person of Ahmed Sajo to serve as Spokesperson to the President following the resignation of Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity from his cabinet, last week.
“For the record, Ahmad Ibrahim Sajoh is an activist, a Journalist, a Public Relations Practitioner, an Administrator, and a renown Public Affairs Analyst, Born on the 20th of June 1960 in Gella,
Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
“Ahmad Sajoh holds a PhD in Communications from Gideon Robert University, Lusaka, Zambia, and an Honourary Doctorate Degree from Ballsbridge University, Roseau, Commonwealth of Domica. .
“This is in addition to several other qualifications. His varied experiences span various fields in Television, Print Media, University Administrations, Gender Activism at the Headquarters of NCWS-Nigeria and Public Administration as a Local Government Secretary, Press Secretary at Government House, Yola and a Member of the Adamawa State Cabinet as
Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy.
“He also served on the Board of the
Nigerian Broadcasting Commission NBC. Currently, Ahmad Sajoh is the Executive Director/CEO of FutureNow Initiative an NGO based in Abuja committed to mobilizing youth to realize that the future depends on actions and choices made today.
“He is also the Convener of “The Nigeria Agenda Group” and a Governing Council Member of the Elizabethan H&H Foundation in Lagos dedicated to rescue street and out of school children especially the boys. Currently Ahmad Sajoh heads the Dr. John Kayode Fayemi’s Media office, and equally a member of several professional bodies.
“He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations NIPR, Fellow Certified Institute of Educational Practitioners, UK, Fellow, and Country President of the International Professional Managers Association of the United Kingdom IPMA-UK.
“He is also a member of the prestigious Association of Communication Scholars and Practitioners of Nigeria ACSPN. A holder of several honours and commendations across Nigeria and the World, Ahmad Sajoh holds a certificate of Recognition from Kansas University, Topeka and is an Honourary citizen of Kansas City in the United State. He is a writer, commentator on public issues and motivational speaker”.
From his pedigrees highlighted, Abdulsalam therefore said it is worthy of note that the UNYF collectively observed Ahmed Sajo’s exceptional leadership and communication skills during his tenure as Commissioner for Information in Adamawa State, his ability to manage complex communication challenges and build strong relationships with stakeholders is truly impressive.
Speaking further, he said that as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ahmed Sajo has demonstrated expertise in public relations and communications with a deep understanding of the intricacies of public policies, making him an invaluable asset to the President’s team.
According to him, Ahmed Sajo’s appointment would bring a sense of inclusivity and diversity to the President’s team, adding that as a young and dynamic individual, Sajo understood the needs and aspirations of Nigerian youths and will effectively communicate the President’s vision to the critical demographic without any ill.
“Moreover, Ahmed Sajo’s experience in crisis communication and management will be invaluable in times of crisis, ensuring that the President’s message is communicated effectively and efficiently. His ability to think critically and strategically will also be beneficial in developing communication plans that align with the President’s goals and objectives.
“We are confident that Ahmed Sajo’s appointment will have a positive impact on the President’s communication efforts. He will bring energy, creativity, and a fresh perspective to the role, ensuring that the President’s message is communicated effectively to Nigerians.
“Therefore, we respectfully urge President Tinubu to consider our recommendation and appoint Ahmed Sajo as his spokesperson. We are confident that Ahmed Sajo will excel in this role and ensure that the President’s communication efforts are in capable hands. Remarkably, his appointment will be a significant step forward in ensuring that the administration’s policies and programs are effectively communicated to Nigerians.
“We believe that Ahmed Sajo’s appointment will enhance the President’s communication team with fresh perspective and expertise, effectively communicate the President’s policies and programs to Nigerians, foster a collaborative environment with stakeholders, promote a positive image of the administration, bring inclusivity and diversity to the President’s team, provide crisis communication and management expertise, develop effective communication plans that align with the President’s goals and objectives, among others.
“We therefore appeal to Mr. President that this request be acted upon without any delay so as to be able to have his thoughts communicated to Nigerians effectively without error,”Abdulsalam said
