Hon. Edward Percy Masha, a distinguished figure from Barde, Nyenkpa Chiefdom in Jema’a LGA, is a seasoned professional and politician with extensive experience in various fields. With a BSc in Accounting and MBA in Business Administration.
Masha’s primary career was in the banking industry, though his expertise extended to numerous sectors within and outside Kaduna state. His early political journey included prominent roles such as Commissioner & Member of the Kaduna State Executive Council, a Director at the Kaduna State Industrial & Finance Company, he was Special Assistant to both the Minister of Finance and Minister of Aviation, a former Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, and Executive Secretary, Micro-Credit and Industrialization Management Board.
These roles laid the foundation for his extensive political and administrative acumen.
Masha’s commitment to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been unwavering, demonstrated through his appointment as the Chairman of the Jema’a PDP Stakeholders Forum.
His adept political strategies and contributions have been pivotal, earning him numerous responsibilities within the party. Notable among his party assignments include his membership in the Caretaker Committee of the PDP Kaduna State in 2020, Coordinator of the Hon Ashiru Kudan Campaign Organization for Zone 3, and Chairman of the Mobilization Committee for the Presidential Candidate’s visit to Kaduna State in October 2022.
His dedication and organizational prowess were further highlighted when he served as Coordinating Chairman for the PDP Presidential Candidate’s visit to Southern Kaduna in December 2022 which was a huge success.
Recognized for his community service and leadership, Masha was honored with the title of Magajin Gari Nyenkpa, reserved for individuals with notable achievements and community contributions. Known as “Sarkin-Aiki” for his humility, simplicity, and hard work, Masha’s leadership style is characterized by his collaborative approach, mentorship, and genuine care for humanity. His reputation as a political strategist and community leader makes him a respected figure in Kaduna State.
Masha’s vision for the PDP in Kaduna State is anchored in unity and inclusivity. He aspires to serve as a unifier, embracing the slogan “Stronger Together” by acting as a chief conciliator and mediator within the party. His priority is to rejuvenate the PDP spirit among members who have become inactive, ensuring fairness and inclusiveness. By expanding the party’s membership through massive mobilization, he aims to bring back aggrieved former members and attract new ones. His commitment to creating opportunities for youth and women within the party and fostering close collaboration with elected representatives underscores his dedication to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
In his mission statement, Masha emphasizes his commitment to humility, integrity, accountability, patriotism, and accessibility. He pledges to be a servant-leader, striving to unify the party, motivate inactive members, expand the party’s base, and engage with the community. His focus on youth and women empowerment and grassroots engagement reflects his vision for a stronger, more inclusive PDP in Kaduna State.
