The Kaduna South Senatorial District Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after a marathon meeting on Saturday, adopted the Zoning Committee’s report headed by former National Legal Adviser, Barr. Mark Jacob which zoned the State party Chairman seat to Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.
The meeting which held at its traditional venue of Kagoro, Kaura council after it received the 9-member committee’s report, unanimously okayed and adopted the recommendation which also zoned the PDP Vice Chairman and Women Leader positions to Kagarko and Jaba council areas respectively.
Other positions as okayed by the Zoning Committee are; Auditor and Assistant Legal Adviser, Zango Kataf council; Assistant Financial Secretary and Ex-Officio, Kaura; Assistant Treasurer and Ex-officio, Kauru; Assistant Secretary and Assistant Youth Leader, Kacbia, while Assistant Organising Secretary and Assistant Women Leader went to Sanga council respectively.
The Barr. Mark Jacob – led Zoning Committee had requested the leadership of the zone to set up an Elder Committee led by former Deputy Governor, Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga to meet with the party’s Chairmanship Candidates with the view to appeal to them to accept the outcome of the zoning arrangement as it is constitutional aimed at ensuring even and fair distribution of party positions for inclusive politics across the zone and the state at large.
Immediately after the Zonal Executive Committee meeting, the Zonal caucus was convened where the report of the Zoning Committee was read to the House, and a motion was moved and seconded supporting the decision of the Zonal Executive Committee. Thereafter, all the 8 Local Government of the zone were advised to immediately arrange to produce their candidates fill the positions allotted them.
It will be recalled that the Kaduna State PDP Congress where the State party Chairman and other officials will be elected, has been slated for this Saturday 21st September, at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Complex.
