The Returning Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rescheduled Ward Congress in Jaba Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, Hon. Barr. Simon Yakubu Arabo has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the election which was concluded on Sunday 15th September, 2024.

Barr. Arabo made this known in Kwoi, the headquarters of Jaba LGA, immediately after he read the lists of the 17 that emerged winners in each of the five wards that the congresses were and returned elected and and also the 5 wards party officials emerged through consensus.

According to him, the wards that agreed on consensus include: Nduya, Sab-zuro, Nok, Dura/Bitaro, and Fai wards. While the wards that election were conducted are: Fada, Sabchem, Daddu, Samban, and Chori wards, respectively.

He further said, “I’m satisfied with the conduct of the rescheduled congresses election.

“If you can recall, yesterday, it was only in one of the wards (Fai Ward) that the election was inconclusive, but instead of us going back to conduct a fresh election, the key players in Fai Ward saw reasons and agreed on a consensus and they came back with a harmonised list. They all endorsed the list, and we are happy with it.

“Before we came to Jaba to conduct this rescheduled congress, we heard that we can’t come here and leave in one piece, but here are we in one peace.

“As far as we concerned, our jurisdiction has ended with the conduct of the elections and announcements of the results. If anybody is not satisfied with any of the declarations made, the person has 24 hours to appeal to the Congress Appeal Committee, he added.

For the benefit of hindsight, on 27th July 2024, the ward congresses were held in Kaduna State, but the Jaba LGA congresses had issues, and the party at the national annulled the said ward congresses. That is why it was rescheduled by the party at the national level.
