All is now set for the official launching of the book on Major-General Zamani Lekwot rtd and the 1992 Zangon Kataf crises titled: ‘Judicial Terrorism: A Macabre Trial and Death Sentences on Major-General Zamani Lekwot and five others’, on Tuesday 5th November, 2024 at Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Mambilla Barracks Junction, Asokoro, Abuja at 11am

The 114-page book was written by a seasoned journalist, prolific writer and a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Richard Akinnola Esq., with the Forward written by Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, will be reviewed by Human Rights lawyer, Chief Femi Falana, SAN under the Chairmanship of Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, former Chairman, Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission and currently, a Professor of Practice in International Human Rights Law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Medford, USA.

The Chief Launcher will be Sen. Danjuma Laah (Shettiman Kagoro), with the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani as a Special Guest of Honour, to be joined by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Sen. Sunday Marshall Katung (Kaduna South) and Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji (Jaba/Zangon Kataf Federal Constituency), respectively, among others.

The paramount ruler of Atyap Chiefdom, HRH, Sir Dominic Gambo Yahaya, KSM Agwatyap, will be the Royal Father of the Day.

Speaking to The News Icon on the launch of the historic book, Gen. Zamani Lekwot rtd, who is the Agwabyin Atyap Chiefdom, said “I feel fulfilled to be alive to witness the landmark publication gives the true picture of what really transpired during and after the Zangon Kataf crisis; the weaponized and false narrative attributed to me by some irresponsible people in high places on the 1992 crises, is akin to giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it.”

The former military Governor of the old Rivers State further said that he was “shamelessly framed up by my enemies who did not have the courage to tell me where I had wronged them, if ever”, he stressed, expressing a sense of a relieved and peaceful mind.
